Explanation about how our leagues differ from other events.
[For the benefit of our website controls we have classed Jitneys as a type of league but technically they are not a league because any club member or guests may play]
A jitney is a casual event. There are usually 5 jitneys each week. Just turn up and put your name-tag on the game board 15 to 30 minutes before the scheduled start time and the Draw Master will organize the teams. A jitney is usually 12 ends of play and takes about 90 minutes. Check the calendar to see when the jitneys take place.
A tournament may be In-House (club members and guests) or Open (any OLBA member may register a team in advance). You pay a fee to enter each tournament.
Unlike jitneys and tournaments,
Leagues play about 19 games each summer season. Arrange your own team and register on-line. Also, arrange for your own spares. You may specify an Alternate team member. The Alternate is your go-to spare, however, they may spare for other teams when not playing for you!
