A jitney is a casual game where participants arrive 15 minute before the scheduled start time. Beginners welcome. There is no fee for these events during the summer season.
Entering the Jitney. When you have joined the club a metal name tag will be placed on the Draw Master's tag board located near the club house. Hang your tag in the centre section of the tag board, usually in the position of lead, this indicates that you are there to play. The draw master will make up teams using these tags and ring the bell to indicate the draw is ready. Find which rink you are on and go there to meet your team.
Clothing is casual, as befits the weather and make sure that on the green you wear flat shoes or sandals without a heel. No cleats or pronounced grip. Twisting can damage the grass.
Borrowing Club Bowls. If you are borrowing club bowls, please get help from the Draw Master or a coach/trainer. You need to pick a set of lawn bowls that fits your hand size and is of a suitable weight. Newer club bowls have an identity tag on their carrier and are required to be signed out. see photograph of our Bowls Crib.
Parking. There is adequate parking on the surrounding grass and laneway around our facility and on nearby streets. Please arrive early.
