Volunteer Opportunities at Milton Bowling Club

See summary list of volunteers required

We are a volunteer operated organization and we rely on your offers of help. This keeps our operating costs low.

Here are some examples:

The Green. Four or five times each week, during the summer, you will see different members cutting or rolling (polishing) the green at the club.

This knocks down the dew and some fungal spores and improves the speed (pace) of the green.

Gardening and Grounds Keeping. Several times each week you will see members tending the flower beds, cutting the grass and shrubs surrounding the green.

Bowling. Most days, at about 9:30 AM, you will see the members setting out the game equipment, seating, shade umbrellas and awnings and later, putting them away. Please take the initiative and help.

Trainers and Coaches. New bowlers need help learning the basics of the game. Are you good with people and enjoy helping others?

Draw Masters. Every jitney game requires someone to make the draw and ensure that all is ready for play. Tournaments require announcements, scorekeeping and prize giving.

Kitchen Operation for Tournaments. In normal times when we organize an in-club or invitational, three-game tournament, we provide kitchen services in the club house. This takes a team of men and women to brew coffee and tea, mix frozen drinks, set out snacks and sometimes prepare a lunch and clean up. It takes team work.

Housekeeping and Handypersons. Using the facility causes wear and tear and the need for cleaning and repair.
