Jitneys or Casual Play
A jitney is a casual game where participants arrive between 15 and 30 minute before the scheduled start time and place their name-tag on the Game-Board managed by the Draw Master for that event. Beginners welcome. There is no fee for these events during the summer season. The winter indoor jitneys have a pay-as-you-play fee.
Entering the Jitney. If you are a beginner, the Draw Master will write your name on a blank name tag and usually assign you to the Lead position. The next time you attend you can find your temporary name tag and place it on the Game-Board yourself.
Clothing is casual, as befits the weather and make sure you wear flat shoes on the green. Flat shoes or sandals without a heel are acceptable. No cleats or pronounced grip. Twisting can damage the Green.
Borrowing Club Bowls. If you are borrowing club bowls, please get help from the Draw Master or a coach/trainer. You need to pick a set of lawn bowls that fits your hand size and is of a suitable weight. All the club bowls have an identity tag on their carrier and are required to be signed out to you for that game.
Parking. There is adequate parking around our facility and on nearby streets. Please arrive early.
